I was recently asked what my word of the year might be. At this point, I hadn’t even considered this. The first word that came to be was “CENTRED.”
I thought about this for a little while afterwards and pondered whether this was the word I wanted to focus on for 2017. Is it dynamic enough for me to be where I need to be? I came to the conclusion that this really is the right word for me. After all, isn’t that what my business is all about; being centred and helping others to be centred in their business.
Being centred to me is about being able to come to a place where I can listen to who it is that I really am, what it is I need to achieve, and to become in life. It is a bit of challenging word. Is it dynamic? Yes it is, because to be centred it takes focus. It takes discipline. It takes courage. When we are centred we can be in the moment. This is where all things are possible.
The interesting thing is that it isn’t about action and doing things, but being able to be still and listening. Listening to where that greater sense of calling is coming from in our lives.
My challenge for you today is to think about what is your word for the year. If you have a business and a team, there is more than just you, what is your word for the whole business? Now, don’t you just choose that on your own. If you want people to own it, you have to get them involved and have them help you make that decision on what that word will be, as a team. Doing that is very powerful.
We’ll talk more about that in the next video and more about being centred, as a team in your business in future videos.
